Activity: The purpose of this project was to enhance the capacity and capabilities of testing laboratories in the public and private sector and to improve trade in agricultural (including aquacultural) and agri-processing sectors. The specific objectives were to carry out comprehensive needs assessments, starting with gap-analyses and audits ISO 17025 procedures, and develop upgrading plans for 8 divisions of 4 public sector laboratories. The final report included the laboratory audit results, list of equipment required to upgrade and a roadmap to accreditation including training. The project team comprised of 3 highly experienced international food safety laboratory experts and the final report was accepted without amendment.
